Stay · 2027 season

A pitch between two rivers.

From March 2027 the Blütengrund campsite has pitches again: generously sized, under old trees, a few minutes from Naumburg's old town. For motorhomes, caravans and tents, and from 2028 in tiny houses too.

Motorhomes and caravans

This is how it should look once the work is finished. At the 2027 opening it will not look like this yet.

Every pitch measures at least 120 square metres, deliberately more than usual. Green space stays between the plots, and the old trees stay where they are. We are not aiming for maximum occupancy. That is a decision, not a stopgap.

There will be several categories and locations, plus premium pitches. What sets each category apart will be listed here once the layout is settled: [To be confirmed: categories and facilities per category].

Every pitch has an electricity hook-up. Usage is billed digitally, so nobody has to read a meter at the end of their stay. [To be confirmed: fresh water and waste disposal at the pitch] [To be confirmed: Wi-Fi at the pitch]

The sanitary buildings are new, not refurbished. The first one is ready for the opening; a second follows when the site grows to 220 pitches.

The first season has 120 pitches. The expansion to 220 follows in 2028. The season-by-season overview shows what arrives when.

Tents

A tent meadow of its own, away from the vehicle pitches: quieter, and with no motorhome manoeuvring next to your tent. The plan provides for 44 tent pitches.

It is meant particularly for touring cyclists and canoeists, who often stay only one night: the Saale cycle route runs right past the site, the Unstrut cycle route ends here, and the canoe hire is on the grounds. Bicycle parking is being built at the new entrance.

Tiny houses

An example, not our house. The first tiny houses open in 2028.

Not in the first season. In 2027 there are pitches and the tent meadow; the first five tiny houses arrive in 2028.

For anyone arriving without their own vehicle or wanting something more solid. The first five houses are built in 2028, south of the lake according to the plan; there will be fifteen in 2029 and twenty from 2030.

The tiny houses are the reason the site will be open all year from 2029: they work even when the tent meadow is asleep. Indoor wellness facilities follow in 2029.

Quality over quantity: fewer pitches than the grounds would allow, and each one with room to breathe.

The site could be filled far more densely. It won't be: at least 120 square metres per plot, old trees stay standing, and a large part of the grounds remains meadow.

Who it's for

Who this place suits

Touring cyclists

The Saale cycle route runs directly alongside the site, and the Unstrut cycle route ends here. The tent meadow is set up for one-night stays, and bicycle parking is being built at the new entrance.

Canoeists

Come ashore from the Saale or the Unstrut: the canoe hire Saale-Unstrut-Tours is on the grounds, and the Naumburg canoe club is right next door to the north. If you bring your own boat, there are landing stages within walking distance.

Families

A lawn to laze on, a playground, a volleyball court and a kickabout area are part of the plan. The lake at the centre is an eye-catcher and a habitat for wildlife. Swimming is prohibited there until the natural swimming lake opens in 2029.

Weekends away from the city

Leipzig, Halle, Jena and Weimar are less than an hour away; the Blütengrund also works as a weekend trip from Berlin. From 2029 in winter too, staying in the tiny houses.

The plan

Rings before rows

Detail of the landscape plan showing the planned rings of pitches
Draft of the pitch rings · 2025 feasibility study, © Lauer + Lebok Architekten

The draft arranges most pitches in rings around shared green spaces, the rest in short rows along the access lane. Every plot measures at least 120 square metres; the old trees decide where the rings go.

Building happens in two stages: 120 pitches for the opening in 2027, the rest by the 2028 season. Almost the entire site lies within the Saale floodplain. That is why the buildings are going up on the few flood-free areas around the lake.

We are building while staying open. Work on the grounds continues until 2030, as quietly as possible during the season, but you will see it. What's coming shows which areas will be building sites and when.

From 1 March 2027 we are here for you.
