The restaurant and shop at the Blütengrund campsite are there for campers, and just as much for anyone cycling past, paddling by or coming over from Naumburg. From March 2027.

From the 2027 season

A new building at the entrance

The restaurant, reception and sanitary facilities are moving into a new building at the entrance to the site, on one of the few parts of the grounds above flood level, with a view across the lawn to the lake. None of it is a refurbishment; it is all being built from scratch.

There are 50 to 70 seats inside and considerably more outside. In summer the outdoor area is the main place to be. The interior is built to hold its own in winter as well; from 2029, when the site opens all year, that becomes the rule.

Genusskontor

From the 2027 season · on site

The Genusskontor at the Blütengrund

Half shop, half pantry. The Genusskontor on site stocks what you actually need on a campsite, without looking like a room full of vending machines.

Behind it is the Genusskontor in Naumburg: delicatessen and food culture at Markt 14, run by Torsten General for years. It is part of the group behind the Blütengrund: Blytengrund GmbH and the Genusskontor are based at the same address.

Water

Experience

The terrace looks out across the lawn to the lake; the spot where the Unstrut flows into the Saale is a few steps further on. The lake is for looking at. There is no swimming in it.

Activity

Canoeists drop in straight off the water: the Saale-Unstrut-Tours hire is on the grounds, with the Naumburg canoe club just to the north. Cycle tourists arrive on the Saale cycle route, which runs along the site.

Taste

From 2029, together with the natural swimming lake, a kiosk by the water will open. [To be confirmed: fish from the region on the menu?]

Wine

Experience

Saale-Unstrut is one of the northernmost wine regions in Europe and one of the oldest: some of the terraces date back to the Middle Ages. The slopes begin within sight of the campsite.

Activity

Wine trails lead from the site out into the vineyards; the state winery at Kloster Pforta is a few kilometres upstream. [To be confirmed: guided wine walks or tastings starting from the site?]

Taste

The Genusskontor stocks more than 200 Saale-Unstrut wines from over 30 producers, along with spirits and fine food: a selection from growers we know, not a wall of shelves. [To be confirmed: wines by the glass in the restaurant]

Wild meadows

Wet meadows, old trees, riverside woodland: a large part of the grounds stays green. Evenings belong to the fire pit: under old trees, with a glass from the Genusskontor. [To be confirmed: where and when fires are allowed, and whether there is firewood on site]

What else is coming

When the natural swimming lake opens in 2029, food and drink here will grow with it. The business will then no longer depend on overnight guests alone.
