Getting here

Four ways to the Blütengrund

A9 · via Naumburg

By car

Take the A9 to Naumburg, then head north through the town towards Blütengrund. Day visitors park in one of the two car parks outside the grounds: on the road called Blütengrund or at the southern edge of the site.

Naumburg (Saale) Hbf

By train

Take the train to Naumburg (Saale) Hauptbahnhof, the main station; Bad Kösen also has a stop. From the station to the site: [To be confirmed: bus, taxi, distance by bike]

Saale cycle route · Unstrut cycle route

By bike

The Saale cycle route runs right past the site, and the Unstrut cycle route joins it here. Anyone cycling upstream or downstream arrives without a detour.

Saale · Unstrut

By canoe

Via the Saale or the Unstrut. The canoe hire Saale-Unstrut-Tours is on the grounds, and the Naumburg canoe club borders the site to the north. There are landing stages within walking distance.

No scheduled bus runs to the site at present. A link to local public transport is part of the plans. Until then, bike and car are the reliable ways to get here.

Who is behind it

From the market to the river.

Genusskontor

Behind Blytengrund GmbH are Torsten General and Ronny Nauhardt. Vision and concept come from Torsten General. He founded and runs Ursprung Saale-Unstrut, which includes the Weinhotel Freylich Zahn and 51 Grad. For years he has run the Genusskontor on Naumburg's market square, a shop for delicatessen and food culture with more than 200 wines from over 30 Saale-Unstrut producers.

His work is aimed at a place that can do more than it currently shows: wine, food and landscape brought together so that Saale-Unstrut becomes a destination rather than a road people drive through. His words for it: “Weil es die Region verdient”, because the region deserves it.

Ronny Nauhardt of Exclusive Standard, a workshop for furniture and interior fit-out, is the operator and the driving force behind the rebuild. He brings the craftsmanship that a site under reconstruction needs.

The company is based at the same address as the Genusskontor. For the Blütengrund this means that the Genusskontor on the site and its range of regional wines come from a business that knows the growers.

The same group runs Domfreyheit by Naumburg Cathedral, with holiday flats, a wine shop and an enoteca, as well as the eat and wine bar 51 Grad and the Weinhotel Freylich Zahn, both in Freyburg.

Frequently asked questions

What guests ask us

If your question is not here, write to us. We will answer it and add it to this page.

When can I book?

Right now, for stays from 1 March 2027. The 2027 season runs from March to October. Bookings are made at buchen.blytengrund.de; if you have questions beforehand, you can reach us at info@blytengrund.de.

When is the site open?

From March to October in the first two years, year-round from 2029:

  • 2027 March to October · 120 pitches
  • 2028 March to October · 220 pitches and the first five tiny houses
  • 2029 year-round · natural swimming lake from 1 May · 15 tiny houses
  • from 2030 year-round · 20 tiny houses

Full details on the What's coming page.

Can I swim in the lake?

No. Swimming has been prohibited since 2004, and signs on the shore say so. Until further notice the lake is for viewing and angling. Its opening as a natural swimming lake is planned for 1 May 2029.

Are there tiny houses?

From the 2028 season: five at first, fifteen in 2029 and twenty from 2030. They are also the reason the site opens year-round from 2029. More on the Stay page.

Are dogs allowed?

The town's planning provides for an off-lead area for dogs in the south-west corner of the grounds, next to the car park. [To be confirmed: whether dogs are allowed, on which pitches and on what terms]

Is there electricity at the pitch?

Yes, every pitch has an electricity hook-up. [To be confirmed: fuse rating in amps and how usage is billed]

Is there Wi-Fi?

An internet connection for the site is part of the building programme. [To be confirmed: whether there is Wi-Fi, where on the site, from when and at what cost]

Where can I get fresh rolls, and where can I shop?

At the Genusskontor right on the site, from the 2027 season: baked goods and breakfast, groceries for the day, regional products, drinks and wine from Saale-Unstrut, camping supplies. More on the Food & drink page.

Can I get there without a car?

Yes. By train to Naumburg (Saale) Hauptbahnhof and by bike along the Saale cycle route, which runs right past the site; the bike also works for the last stretch from the station. No scheduled bus runs to the site at present. See Getting here above for details.

Can I hire a canoe?

Yes. The canoe hire Saale-Unstrut-Tours is right on the grounds; the Saale is calm enough here for touring, and the Unstrut flows into it at the site. [To be confirmed: contact details and season times of the canoe hire]

Can I eat or shop without staying overnight?

Yes. The restaurant and the Genusskontor are open to day visitors too: anyone cycling or paddling past the Blütengrund, or coming over from Naumburg.

We are coming as a group or staying longer. Is that possible?

For groups, clubs and longer stays, please get in touch with us directly. We will find a solution that fits in with the building work.

Will there be building work during my stay?

Yes, probably until 2030, while the site stays open. The What's coming page shows what is ready in which season. If you would like to know what exactly is planned for the dates of your trip, ask us before you book.

You can already plan for the first season.

Bookings are open now, and from 1 March 2027 we are on site. Until then, write to us.
